Thank you for visiting our website and considering the Harrington United Football Club, known as “The Hornets”, as your club.

 

To make registration and joining our Club simpler, we have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions. Hopefully they will answer any queries that you may have;

 

 

 Q. How old does my child have to be to play Football?

A. Children must be turning 5 this year (2017) to play Football. This is a Football Australia regulation.

 

 Q. What do I need to bring to registration?

A. New players require Birth Certificate, Passport or a Drivers Licence. Players who have been registered previously will have a Football Federation Australia number on file.

 

 Q. Where is Registration and what days is it on?

A. Registration will be held at the Community Centre, next to the Harrington Park Plaza on Fairwater Drive, Harrington Park. Dates are; 4th & 11th February 2017. 9am to 2pm.

 

 

Q. What type of football will my child be playing?

A. Children between Under 6 and Under 11 will be playing Small Sided Games.

 

This means that for Under 6’s and 7’s there are 4 players on the pitch.  Under 8’s and 9’s play 7 v 7 and 10’s and 11’s play 9 v 9.

Q. Are there any ongoing fees through the year?

A. No, all fees are covered in the once only payment.

 

Q. Will I need to buy anything else?

A. Hornets Shorts and Socks are available from the Club at $20 and $15 respectively. All players MUST wear these items. Any player not wearing approved Hornets team uniform will be prevented from playing. Players must also have approved football boots and shin guards.

 

 Q. Can my child play with his friends?

A. We make every effort to place children into teams of their choosing, particularly in Under 6’s. However, if you are joining an existing team, you may need to speak with the Coach, or, for Full Field teams, go through a grading process.

 

Q. When are gradings being held and for what teams?

A. Gradings will be held in early to mid February.

Gradings are for Division 1 teams. Players wishing to play in lower grades in teams they were part of in 2016 may chose not to grade if at all possible. 

 

Q. When is training conducted?

A. Most teams train 1 night per week. Some Division 1 sides may chose to train more often. Training times are at the discretion of the Team Coach.

 

Q. Where is training held?

A. Teams train at The Hive, on Charker Drive Harrington Park.  Some teams train at alternative fields as the Hive is not large enough to cater for the club. 

 

Q. Where are the Home games played?

A. The Hornets home ground is “The Hive”, at Charker Drive, Harrington Park, right next to the lake.

 

Q. Where will I have to travel to play?

A. The Hornets participate in the Macarthur District Soccer Football Association. Affiliated teams stretch from Glenfield to Appin, Tahmoor and Burragorang (Oakdale). There are many teams in the greater Camden and Campbelltown areas.

Q. What days are the games on?

A. Small Sided Games and Juniors, including Under 12, 14 and 16 Girls, are played on Saturdays.

Under 18 and above, All Age and Over 35’s are player on Sundays.

 

Q. When does the season start?

A. Round 1 is scheduled for Early April 2017,  however, the Club plans trial matches throughout March.
